DescriptionThis free-blown and tooled glass vessel, classified as a Double Tube IIIG2a, consists of two flattened tubular compartments that narrow slightly toward the base and have a rim folded outward, upward, inward, and downward. The glass is transparent dusky yellow (near 5 Y 6/4) with light olive-colored trails and handle (near 10 Y 5/4). The body is thin with visible blowing spirals. Small bubbles are present, and the fabric cannot be determined due to weathering. A pontil mark approximately 2.1 cm in diameter is ground off. The body is pinched once lengthwise. Two looped trails are applied to the lower body just above the base, with an extra bit at the bottom of the right trail. These trails touch down to the body multiple times and attach at the edge of the rim on the left side, folding upward and inward over the rim on the right side. A flat double-tiered curving basket handle, made from two separate thick coils with U-shaped sections, connects the looped trails on each side. The first, M-shaped tier is attached at the top of the left looped trail, arches over the mouth of each compartment, and touches down at the wall between them before attaching to the top of the right trail. Most of the second tier is now lost but originally connected to the first tier. Excess glass at the tips of the handle is folded back against itself.
