DescriptionThis free-blown beaker is made from translucent to transparent manganese-colored very dark red glass (near 5 R 2/6). The glass is of medium thinness and contains small bubbles. The vessel has straight walls that taper slightly downward toward the center, which is emphasized by a wide, open cut-out collar. Below this collar, the body narrows sharply to a pushed-in, hollow tubular base ring. The concave base, likely domed, lacks a pontil mark. The rim has been ground, and the upper body is decorated with three horizontal wheel-cut lines.
