DescriptionThis transparent decolored glass bowl is free-blown and decorated with bicolored chips of translucent manganese-colored and opaque white glass. Small spherical bubbles are visible in the thin glass. The bowl’s rim is lightly ground, and its bulbous body has a flattened base with a slight depression in the center. The “splashed” decoration is created by picking up thin chips or slices of bicolored canes, which consist of opaque white stripes, scrolls, or circles on a manganese-colored ground. These chips appear small on the bottom and become larger toward the rim.
