DescriptionThis footed cup was free-blown from translucent royal-blue glass. Small colored chips in opaque white, light blue, yellowish green, and red were picked up, marvered, and blown out with the vessel to form its splashed decoration. The rounded rim is finished with an opaque white thread, and the broad loop handles include thumbrests. The U-shaped body sits on an outsplayed hollow foot with an unworked edge. The splashed decoration varies in size, with medium-sized flecks near the rim and smaller ones near the base and foot. Rim rounded and thickened in flame, curving inward. U-shaped profile to body. Outsplayed hollow blown base with unworked edge. Broad loop handle(s) with thumbrest. Medium-sized colored flecks on body (dm. approximately 0.9-0.5 cm near rim and 0.4- 0.2 cm near base; small flecks on foot (0.2-0.1 cm). Opaque white thread around edge of rim.
