DescriptionThis aryballos is made of thick glass in a translucent dark greenish yellow hue (10 Y 6/6); the fabric cannot be determined due to weathering. It is free-blown, tooled, and wheel-cut, with no pontil mark. The tips of the coil handles are drawn out thin and folded back. The bottle features a hollow collar rim folded outward, downward, outward again, upward, inward, and flattened to form a broad brim. A cylindrical neck with a central bulge and a tool mark at its base transitions to a horizontal shoulder and a fully spherical body. The slightly flattened base allows the vessel to stand upright. Two broad coil handles run from the shoulder to just below the rim. On the upper body, two narrow bands of light incisions and one shallow wheel-cut groove add decoration. This form corresponds to Isings 1957, Form 61.
