DescriptionThis small ancient lamp is made of dark blue glass and was shaped by hand. It has a rounded rim, a squat body flattened on top and bottom, and a conical spout for the flame. The handle, applied while the glass was still hot, is pressed into place across from the spout. Signs of the shaping process—like small air bubbles and swirling lines—are still visible in the glass.
