DescriptionThis free-blown and tooled glass vessel, classified as a Double Tube IIC2a, consists of two flattened tubular compartments that narrow slightly toward the points of attachment for the side handles and then continue straight to a narrow, flattened base. The hollow rim is irregularly folded outward, upward, inward, and downward. The glass is transparent natural pale green (10 G 6/2) with similarly colored handles. The vessel is made of medium thin glass with blowing spirals and some black specks in the handle. The fabric cannot be determined because of weathering. The pontil mark is approximately 3.3 cm in diameter and has been ground off. A tool mark is visible at the top of the basket handle.
The body is pinched once lengthwise. Two angular coil side handles are applied to the upper body and attached to the rim. A curved basket handle, made from a separate thick coil with an oval section, is applied to the top of the right side handle and attached to the top and side of the left side handle. Excess glass at the tips of the handles is folded back against the top of the handles.
