BiographyThe silversmith and jewelry company Mermod, Jaccard & Co., St. Louis, MO (1864-1920s) was founded by D.C. Jaccard and A.S. Mermod as Mermod & Jaccard, becoming Mermod, Jaccard & Co. in 1873. Goodman King joined the firm in 1865 and the name was ultimately changed to Mermod, Jaccard & King Jewelry Co. in 1905. They were primarily retailers and jewelers, but also made some sterling and silverplate flatware, holloware and souvenir spoons. However, the firm was outsourcing all of its silver manufacturing by 1890. The actual manufacturer of the ladle is anonymous, as typical for the period.
