Label TextThis faience button in the shape of a rosette was excavated in 1923–1924 by the Egypt Exploration Society at Amarna. Decorative inlays like this were found throughout the elite residences and public buildings of the ancient city. The object entered the Toledo Museum of Art through the formal division of finds, part of a long-standing system for distributing excavated material from major archaeological missions to partner institutions.
