DescriptionThis broad, shallow bowl has an upright rim with a rounded edge, a convex curving side, and a slightly concave bottom. Its surface displays a marbled mosaic pattern formed from polygonal sections cut from a single cane in a golden-yellow ground with numerous opaque white rods. On the interior, three narrow horizontal grooves are present: two form a band at the junction of the side and bottom, and one small circular groove sits at the center of the base. The bowl was assembled from sections of cane, cast, rotary-polished on the interior and rim, and cut on the interior.
