DescriptionThis combined record refers to a large black-figure amphora with a narrow, pointed foot (TMA 1958.69A) and a separate, cylindrical black-figure stand (TMA 1958.69B). Though purchased together and compatible in form, the two were created by different artists and likely were not originally a set. The amphora features mythological scenes involving Herakles and Athena; the stand illustrates a domestic washing scene.
Label TextThis pair was purchased together in 1958 but was likely never a set in antiquity. See the individual records 1958.69A for the amphora with Herakles and the Ceryneian Hind, and 1958.69B for the stand showing domestic activities.Published References
