Comparative ReferencesSee also Titi, F., Ammaestramento ecc., 1674, 3 Aug. 1686, lists almost all artists concerned with Falconieri Chapel. Cf. De Rossi, Vari Altari e Cappelle, A Late 17th Century publication with engraved plates, one of which shows Cardinal Falconieri's tomb without the added angels. Cf. Brinckmann, A.E., Barocksculptur, Berlin, 1917, p. 267, Short discussion of the tomb. Cf. Brinckmann, A. E., Barock-bozzetti, Frankfurt, 1923, vol. I, p. 118. Fig. 34 illustrates the Falconierei tomb as completed. Plate opp. p. 118 illustrated the presumably earlier bozzetto in the Collection of Ludwig Pollak, Rome. Cf. Hempel, E., Borromini, Vienna, 1924. Describes his part in the Falconieri Chapel. Cf. Bruhns, Leo, Romische Jahrubuch fur Kunstgeschichte, 1940. Cf. Bruhns, Leo, Die Kunst der Stadt Rom, Vienna, 1951, I, pp. 573, 649. Cf. Portoghesi, Paolo, "Borromini," Encyclopedia of World Art, II, p. 566. Discusses Falconieri Chapel. Cf. Antonia Nara Cellini, "Baroque Art: Italy, Sculpture," Encyclopedia of World Art, II, New York, 1960. Suggests the Faith is reminiscent of Reni. The author has a considerably higher opinion of Ferrata than Wittkower. "Ferrata's works always have a buoyancy, both in composition and in play of light, that truly forecasts the 18th century. His late works show a waxlike, pictorial softness and a changing play of light, tending to give an effect of pathos." This author has other interesting remarks re Ferrata's work and place in the late 17th century Roman sculpture. Cf. Maria Vittoria Brugnole, "Due bozzetti del Seicento: Ercole Ferrata e Pierre Etienne Monnot," Bollettino d'Arte, 1960, IV, pp. 339-345.
