DescriptionPressed upside down and annealed. Black-and-white image of the New York State Building at the World's Columbian Exposition, 1893, applied to underside of paperweight by a photographic process, then coated with opaque white enamel and fired in a muffle or kiln to form a thin, solid protective coating over the image.
