Label TextAndré George Billeci gained renown as an art educator in glass and a sculptor of clay at the State University of New York, Alfred. His interest in glass grew sufficiently that in 1962 he was granted the right to keep a small glass furnace going throughout the summer. By 1966 he was teaching an undergraduate course in the Alfred art department that eventually was established as a new program called Glass Design.Published References"Acquisitions," Craft Horizons, vol. 28, no. 6, Nov./Dec. 1968, p. 4.
