DescriptionPressed upright in a female mold of three vertical sections bearing the Argus pattern, each of which also formed one-third of the base, in conjunction with a one-piece cylindrical mold that formed a hollow cylinder above the ribbed shoulder which was reheated, tooled, and sheared to form the shoulder, neck, and lip, by a plain male plunger. The moldmarks extend from the underside of the base to the top fine rib on the shoulder, each bending leftward around the edge of the oval between upper and lower panels. Gather applied at the juncture of the shoulder and neck and tooled into a triple band. Interior of neck not ground for a stopper. Deep concave pontil mark fire-polished.
