DescriptionPlate composed of two types of hexagonal millefiori canes, one a light yellow octagon surrounded by colorless glass, the other a colorless glass Maltese cross surrounded by a casing of amethyst and a casing of light blue glass. The slices of cane were assembled in a shallow ceramic-like mold and heated until they fused. Applied rim of gold-ruby glass. The bottom of the plate was ground and polished. The upper surface was not ground and polished and is irregular from the uneven thicknesses of the canes.
