DescriptionThis broad carinated bowl has an upright rim with traces of an outsplayed edge, which was partially removed by modern polishing. The side is carinated, formed by two shallow convex curves. The bottom is concave on the upper surface and slightly convex underneath. An outsplayed base ring with an uneven, rounded edge is attached.
The bowl’s composite mosaic pattern is formed from large polygonal sections of two canes: the first has a pale rose-violet ground with opaque white rods surrounding a central opaque yellow rod; the second has a blue ground with opaque white rods surrounding a central opaque white rod. The base ring is in a pale translucent turquoise-blue ground.
