DescriptionThis object is a fragment representing approximately one-fifth of a two-handled cup (skyphos). It is made of opaque tannish-pink glass. The cup has a short horizontal rim with an inturned, rounded edge and a convex curving side. Attached to the rim is a ring handle with upper and lower projecting thumb rests; the lower thumb rest curves downward at its far end. On either side of the ring handle, a cut circular disk protrudes horizontally from the rim. The vessel was cast and cut, with the handle cast as part of the cup and rotary-polished on both surfaces.
