DescriptionThis bottle is shaped like a ripe date, with ridges and hooks that mimic the fruit’s wrinkled surface. The neck is cylindrical, and the rim is turned inward. It was made using a two-part mold, and the glass is translucent yellowish brown.

Exhibition HistoryThe Rainbow Flag, designed in 1978 by Gilbert Baker (1951-2017), is a conceptual work, an expertly and beautifully hand-crafted object, and a symbol of community activism and pride. The eight vibrant colors of the original Rainbow Flag each represent an aspect of queer pride: hot pink for sex, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, turquoise for magic (and later, art), indigo for serenity, and violet for spirit.Mid-1st to early 2nd century CE
