DescriptionThis small free-blown tubular jar, sometimes called a kohl tube, is made from marbled glass with swirls of translucent royal blue, opaque white (appearing light blue), opaque light green, and translucent manganese. The rim is folded outward, upward, inward, and then flattened. The tubular body gently broadens to its greatest diameter just above the base. The base is flat and pushed in, forming a tubular base ring. Two handles were added. A pontil mark cannot be distinguished due to later repair. This vessel is classified as IA1a.
