DescriptionThe body was blown into a patterned mold, then twisted sharply to the left and expanded. The pontil mark is approximately 1.1 cm in diameter. The handles were added separately, and the excess glass at the tips was drawn out to the side along the rim and snapped off. The glass is transparent to translucent light olive (near 10 Y 5/4), with similarly colored translucent handles and coil base. The jar has a flaring hollow rim folded outward, upward, and inward. The slender tubular body bulges above a constriction near the base. The base is formed of a triple coil. Two sturdy angular coil handles are applied to the waist and attached to the rim, where they are folded outward, upward, and inward, and pinched to form horizontal projections. Excess glass at the attachment points was pinched to form secondary horizontal projections. On the body, from below the rim to the base, closely spaced thin ribs curve from top left to bottom right.
