DescriptionFree-blown carinated bowl with everted rim, lightly ground. The carination creates an angular profile, with the greatest diameter located near the base. The base is kicked inward. The glass is thin and transparent with a pale green tinge, containing pinprick bubbles. Classified as Vessberg type A II a.
Comparative ReferencesSee also Vessberg 1952, 121, beaker type A II a, pl. III 17. According to Vessberg they may have been used as jars since a number of painted lids (many with Aphrodisiac scenes) fit the splayed rim. According to Vessberg 119, they form a homogenous group and are in themselves evidence of a Cypriote production. No dated specimens mentioned by Vessberg.1st century
