DescriptionThis panorama of the Roman Forum is comprised of three albumen silver prints, slightly trimmed, and mounted on canvas in a wood and plexi frame. A date, 1880, is visible on the roof of the Tabularium at the center and so the photographs must have been made in 1880 or later. Several workmen are included in the scene and one has moved so that he is visible in each of the three photographs. These appear to be contact prints from wet plate, collodion on glass negatives (that is, glass plates the same size as the photographic positive prints).
