Label TextThis print was conceived during a period when Whistler and Haden were working closely together. They would often go to Kensington Gardens in London and etch directly from nature. It was evident from the beginning that Haden was the more adept at landscapes, while Whistler had a predilection for figurative compositions. In both Haden's and Whistler's landscape prints of the period there is a relationship to the work of Jean Baptiste Camille Corot (French, 1796-1875). Corot's work can also be seen in this exhibition.Membership
