Label TextPrinting was introduced into Spain at Valencia in 1474. In the next decade, presses were established in a number of Spanish cities. In Spain, as elsewhere, the spread of painting was transmitted by itinerant Germans, or by those trained in Germany. Although the Spaniards had a preference for gothic type, their books, despite the nationality of the earliest printers in Spain, did take on a recognizable Spanish style, as does this religious text.
