Matteo Gasparini (d. 1774) came to Spain from Italy. Likewise, not much is known about his biography. He was trained as a painter and may have come from Italy in the Kings entourage. He assumed the rank of pintor de camera and later director of the Royal workshops (Talleres Reales). He was charged with designing some of the most important rooms in the Spanish Royal palace.
