American, born 1945
BiographyEmily Brock received her BS in the department of clothing and textiles from Oregon State University in 1967. She began her artistic career at a relatively late stage, and her primary concern has been with the portrayal of miniature interior domestic scenes assembled from industrially made plate glass and flame-worked details. Her diorama-like glass sculptures explore the interiors of diners, libraries, studios, offices and other rooms occupied by people on a daily basis. Selected collections include: Columbus Museum of Art, The Toledo Museum of Art, the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art in Sapporo, Japan, and the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia. The artist lives and works in Corrales, New Mexico.
