Roxy PaineAmerican, born 1966
Born in New York City in 1966, Roxy Paine grew up in the suburbs of
Virginia. He spent time studying art at the College of Santa Fe (now
Santa Fe University of Art and Design) in New Mexico and the Pratt
Institute in New York. In 1997, Paine received the Trustees Award for
an Emerging Artist by the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art and,
in 2006, received the prestigious John Simon Guggenheim Memorial
Foundation Fellowship. His work has been exhibited widely. Select solo
exhibitions include: Roxy Paine: Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor, Beeler
Gallery, Columbus College of Art and Design (2016); Roxy Paine,
Gund Gallery, Kenyon College (2016); Natura Naturans, Villa Panza,
