L.W. Cushing and Sons was a prominent American manufacturer of

weathervanes, based in Waltham, Massachusetts, during the late 19th

and early 20th centuries. Founded by Lorenzo W. Cushing in the

mid-19th century, the company gained a reputation for producing highquality,

artistic weathervanes that were both functional and decorative.

Their weathervanes, often crafted from copper, brass, and gold leaf,

became popular across the United States for their durability, intricate

designs, and fine craftsmanship. The firm specialized in a wide range of

weathervane styles, including animals, ships, and patriotic symbols,

which adorned the rooftops of homes, barns, and public buildings.
