Label TextThis blue faience ring was excavated in 1923–1924 by the Egypt Exploration Society at Amarna, the capital city founded by Pharaoh Akhenaten. Such rings were among the many personal ornaments recovered from domestic areas during the expedition. The object was distributed to the Toledo Museum of Art through the official division of finds, a system by which the EES shared documented archaeological material with major museums around the world.Published ReferencesPeck, William H., Sandra E.
