Label TextThis faience inlay, shaped as a cluster of grapes, was excavated in 1922 at Akhetaten (modern Amarna), the capital city founded by Pharaoh Akhenaten. The piece was recovered by the Egypt Exploration Society and assigned to the Toledo Museum of Art in that year’s official division of finds. A small attachment hole suggests it once decorated a surface, possibly as part of a larger inlay program.
