Label TextThis necklace, composed of flat disk-shaped faience beads in shades of blue and green, was excavated in 1923–1924 at Amarna by the Egypt Exploration Society. It was allocated to the Toledo Museum of Art through the EES’s formal division of finds. Bead strands such as this were commonly worn or used as burial offerings in the 18th Dynasty. This necklace is one of five strings of beads recorded among the unnumbered finds from the season and is associated with two other strands in the collection (1925.766, 1925.767).Exhibition HistoryToledo Museum of Art, The Egypt Experience: Secrets of the Tomb, October 29, 2010-January 8, 2012.
