Label TextDominguin was a bullfighter whom Picasso had known since the 1950s. Picasso often went to Sunday bullfights in Nîmes, Arles, and Vallauris to watch Dominguin. Dominguin's text reflects on the motivations impelling him to enter the ring, his friendship with Picasso, the artist's nostalgic feelings towards Spain - and Spain's nostalgia for Picasso. There is also an essay by Georges Boudaille which discusses Picasso's drawings (those reproduced in the book) on the theme of bullfighting. Picasso designed the cover and title page for this book, and made the lithograph which accompanied the deluxe edition.Published Referencescf.
