Label TextThis small faience amulet depicts the red crown of Lower Egypt, known as the Deshret. Amulets like this served a protective purpose, invoking divine power to safeguard the wearer. As symbols of royal authority, these objects were also associated with the pharaoh’s role as protector of the land. During the Late Period (Dynasties 25–31), such amulets were popular in funerary contexts, where they ensured spiritual protection and alignment with royal and divine forces in the afterlife.
