DescriptionA nocturne scene of multi-story houses and a road. A lantern projects light from a building on the right further emphasizing the dramatic contrast between light and dark. A solitary figure cast in shadow is about halfway down the road on the left. Long, vigorous lines make up the nighttime sky and street, whereas shorter marks in varying angles are found in the murky darkness and texture of the buildings.
