DescriptionBoth bottles blown in the same mold (McKearin G.I-7, Type 2) of three vertical sections and a plain base plate. Bottle 1: salt, made by the blow-over and crack-off process. Rim finished by grinding. No pontil mark. Thin brass cap made of two pieces: the vertical section rolled from a flat strip and soldered to form a flange ring on the top, then stamped and joined to the vertical section by turning its outer edge over the flange of the ring. Bottle 2: vinegar, neck and flange tooled to shape and lip folded inward. Interior of neck ground to receive stopper. Rough pontil mark. Stopper: with ringed pattern and plain tapered shank, probably pressed in a plier press. Shank not ground. Mustard pot: blown in a mold (McKearin G.I-7, Type 2) of three vertical sections and a base plate (McKearin Rayed Type I). Rim finished by tooling and folded inward. Rough pontil mark. Closure: pressed, probably by machine, with eighteen external ribs and a series of horizontal rings inside. Three-hole, tin-plated metal castor stand repainted red.
