DescriptionBlue and white ware. John Hancock's cows grazing in common before Boston State House
Label TextFamous patriot and enthusiastic signer of the Declaration of Independence John Hancock (1737–1793) was one of the wealthiest men in the Colonies before the Revolutionary War and later became governor of Massachusetts. The new statehouse in Massachusetts was built beginning in 1795 on a piece of Hancock’s land.
