Label TextIn 1870, artist Giuseppe Devers, who was greatly influenced by Italian Renaissance art, collaborated with the Venetian master glassblower Antonio Seguso and enameller Leopoldo Bearzotti to reproduce a celebrated 1470 enameled glass marriage goblet made by Angelo Barovier. Known as the “Coppa Barovier,” or Barovier Goblet, the original is today in the Murano Glass Museum in Venice, Italy. The replica was part of the 19th-century revival of Venetian Renaissance glass techniques spearheaded by the glass manufacturer Compagnia di Venezia e Murano.
