Label TextA. Douglas Nash, who had previously operated Tiffany Furnaces in Long Island, New York, was hired by the Libbey Glass Company in 1931 to develop luxury handcrafted as well as machine-made products for institutional and domestic use. Some of these examples of Libbey’s “New Era in Glass” were prototypes and never put into production.
