DescriptionThe vase has a four-part body articulated into vertical compartments, each separated by raised ribs and decorated with incised cloud motifs. Its light brownish glaze identifies it with Yue ware, a southern Chinese stoneware celebrated for its subtle, olive-toned celadon surface. The fine, compact body and thin, evenly applied glaze suggest a high-fired kiln active during the Tang period.
Label TextThis elegant vase is divided into four vertical panels incised with scrolling cloud motifs. Its thin, even glaze in a pale brown tone typifies Yue ware, one of the finest high-fired ceramics of the Tang dynasty.
