Label TextTwo identical inscriptions, one on the inside of the lid and one on the inside of the body of this vessel, read: Made for [sacrifice to] Baron Feng Fu. Zhou Dynasty Chinese believed that prayers and ritual offerings of food and wine to their ancestors in the next world were necessary for their own well being.
