DescriptionHydra band on cover; tao t'ieh and hydra band on neck. Bail terminates in animal heads.
Label TextTwo identical inscriptions, one on the inside of the lid and one on the inside of the body of this vessel, read: Made for [sacrifice to] Baron Feng Fu. Zhou Dynasty Chinese believed that prayers and ritual offerings of food and wine to their ancestors in the next world were necessary for their own well being.
