Label TextDionysos, Greek god of wine and the theater, reclines on a couch as his wife Ariadne pours him wine. His followers surround him, including a satyr (part-man, part-goat), a maenad (“the frenzied one”; a female follower of Dionysos), and a person with dwarfism. A theater mask hangs on the wall. This delightful pitcher would have appropriately held wine.Published References
