Label TextFormerly part of a set that included six side chairs and two armchairs, this table was designed by Dutch designer J.P. Jansen for his father’s drawing room. Jansen worked for his father’s company, Amsterdam furniture makers H.F. Jansen & Sonen, which had been in operation since the mid-19th-century. By the turn of the 20th-century, it was known for its Art Nouveau designs. The simple, elegant table is made primarily from oak and is embellished with inlays of mother of pearl, ebony, and exotic woods.Published ReferencesH.H.
