DescriptionThis mold-blown and tooled vessel, classified as Vessels Type, Series A3, Generation A3a-y, is made of translucent grayish blue glass with streaking. The fabric is medium thin and weathered beyond precise determination. The neck was free blown, while the body was shaped in a four-part mold consisting of three vertical sections joined to a disk-shaped base section (MCT II). Mold seams are located between panels 2 and 3, 4 and 5, and 6 and 1. Relief is indistinct, and vertical crimps at the base of the neck suggest the use of a tool during finishing. The bottle has a flaring rim folded outward, upward, and inward, a cylindrical neck with a slight taper, sloping shoulder, and ovoid body. The base is low and offset with a flat underside bearing two raised concentric circles. Its decorative scheme corresponds with that of 1923.531, part of a series sharing similar mold designs and typology.
