DescriptionThin glass. A few small bubbles.
Purple body and applied purple handles; flared, folded rim; short, wide neck; handles extend from below rim to shoulder; flattened hemispherical body
Transparent manganese colored very dark red (near 5 R 2/6). Similarly colored handles.
Free-blown. No pontil mark. Excess glass at tips of handles folded back against handle.
Flaring rim, partially folded outward, upward, and inward. Concave neck with curved transition to shoulder. Sloping shoulder. Squat bulbous body with greatest diameter just above midpoint. Slightly concave base. Two coil handles with flattened interiors applied to shoulder and attached to exterior of rim where they are folded downward, inward, and upward to form a closed loop.
Below rim, an unusual rough band with a distinct thickened beginning and end, perhaps a negative impression from a lost rim coil.
