DescriptionThin glass. Natural light bluish-green; flared, folded rim; neck widens toward shoulder, neck constricted slightly at juncture with body; bell shaped body. The resemblance of this vessel shape to a modern candlestick has resulted in this type of Roman vessel being called a "candlestick unguentarium." No pontil mark. Broad tubular rim, outsplayed horizontally, folded inward, and flattened. Tall neck with a slight upward taper and a constriction at its base. Bell-shaped body about one-fifth of the total height. Recessed flat bottom. Transparent natural pale green.
