Label TextRouen is the historic capital of Normandy in northern France. Located on the River Seine and close to the English Channel, Rouen today serves as a major import/export center. It is currently the capital of Haute-Normandie (Upper Normandy). Rouen was, during medieval times, one of the largest and most prosperous cities in Europe. In this print MacLaughlan conveys some of the feeling of the medieval city.
