Label TextThis mezzotint portrait of Charles William Lambton (1818-1831) was commissioned by Sir Thomas Lawrence, President of the Royal Academy. It was considered so successful that Samuel Cousins' prosperity was insured from that time forward. His services were in constant demand by Lawrence, whose paintings became Cousins' most frequently engraved subjects.Published Referencescf.
