Label TextIn this image, Kazimir Malevich represents the power of modern technology and the simultaneity of experience, but here warped by illogic and absurdity. The fractured, exploding forms and crisscrossing force lines embody the Russian anarchist concept of "creative destruction" to go beyond the boundaries of common sense and ordinary experience. Malevich wrote in 1913, "We come to the rejection of reason, but … a different form of reason has arisen within us … one could call it transrational. It has its own law and construction and meaning."Exhibition HistoryBetween the Wars; Sept. 5 2008 through Dec.31 2000 TMA: Russian Works On Paper (1913-1927), Dec.19,1981 - Feb.15,1982 Toledo Museum of Art, Werner Pfeiffer Selects, Feb. 13-May 10, 2015.
